CSci Engaging Public Confidence

Chartered Scientist designation provides legal credibility, public trust and professional standing with government and regulatory authorities through an ongoing commitment to high levels of professionalism and a stringent Code of Conduct.

  • Being chartered is the mark of professional recognition. Being a Chartered Scientist allows all scientists working at the full professional level to be recognised on an equal footing across their different disciplines.
  • It gives an assurance of current competence through mandatory revalidation and encapsulates the interdisciplinary nature of science in the 21st century.
  • By benchmarking professional scientists at the same high level, CSci aims to re-engage public trust and confidence in science and scientists.

ICR believes that the professional recognition, current competence, and benchmarking goals of the Science Council are perfectly aligned with the ICR core values of raising standards, sharing knowledge and developing professionals.
